What Is a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Spain?
Choosing a university major often forces students to choose between two fields they genuinely enjoy.

In Spain, many universities offer Double Bachelor’s Degree programmes — known in Spanish as “Doble Grado” — that combine two complementary academic fields within one structured university pathway.
The idea is not simply to add another certificate to your CV.

Official Spanish university programmes show how much these structures can vary. Some double degrees run for five years with around 330–342 ECTS, while others extend to five and a half years with 366–390 ECTS.

Does a Double Degree Mean Two Qualifications?

However, Spanish Doble Grado programmes are typically designed to complete the academic requirements of two fields through an integrated curriculum.
For example, the Public University of Navarre describes its international Business Administration + Economics double degree as a programme designed to obtain both qualifications within a five-year, 300-ECTS curriculum.

ECTS credits,

teaching language,
final qualifications,
and graduation requirements.
How Long Does a Double Degree Take in Spain?
There is no single duration.
Many Spanish Double Degrees take approximately five to five and a half years, although this varies significantly by programme.
This is because students must complete a larger academic workload than in many conventional bachelor’s programmes.
At the same time, universities can integrate overlapping subjects, which means studying two complementary fields does not necessarily mean completing two entirely separate bachelor’s degrees one after another.
Is a Double Degree More Difficult?
It can be.
Students may face:
more subjects,
higher annual workloads,
a wider range of academic areas,
and greater demands on time management.
But difficulty alone should never be the reason to choose a programme.

Does the additional effort support your career goal?

That depends on the combination.

can connect with major corporate, industrial and technology sectors across Gulf economies.
Law combinations also need additional consideration.
A graduate of Law + Business, for example, may find the combination relevant to corporate work, compliance, contracts or risk functions.
That is different from being automatically authorised to practise law before local courts, which is subject to the professional licensing rules of each country.

How Much Does a Double Degree Cost?
Tuition varies greatly between Spanish public and private universities.
Public university fees can be calculated according to the number of ECTS credits and regional public tuition rates.
As one official example, Galicia’s public university fees for 2025/26 set first-enrolment tuition for some Social Sciences, Humanities and Law programmes at €9.85 per ECTS, equivalent to approximately €591 for 60 ECTS before additional administrative charges. This means some public-university options can begin at approximately €600 per academic year, but the actual cost of a Double Degree depends on the programme, university, region and number of credits taken each year.
Private universities can cost considerably more.
Admission for International Students
There is no single admissions route for every international student.
